What is cellulite?

The term cellulite refers to the dimpled appearance of the skin that some people have on their hips, thighs, and buttocks. This appearance is much more common in women than in men because of differences in the way fat, muscle, and connective tissue are distributed in men and women’s skin. The lumpiness of cellulite is caused by fat deposits that push and distort the connective tissues beneath skin, leading to the characteristic changes in appearance of the skin.

Cellulite is not related to the condition known as cellulitis, which is a spreading bacterial infection or inflammation of the skin and tissues beneath the skin.

How is Venus Legacy performed?

At Skin Deep Medical Spa, the treatment with Venus Legacy normally takes 30 to 40 minutes. This will, however, depend on the areas you want us to treat.We normally perform the procedure while you are lying on the treatment bed. When performing Venus Legacy on my patients, I start by applying treatment gel on areas that will be treated to facilitate the movement of the treatment device on your skin. The procedure is so relaxing that most of my patients get fully relaxed or nap. The treatment feels like a warm massage. You will be able to go home immediately after the treatment and go on with your normal activities.

How it works

Using patented (MP)² technology, Venus Legacy utilizes multi-polar radio frequency and Pulsed Magnetic fields which produce a soothing and therapeutic heat matrix over the skin. Skin tightening, wrinkle reduction and cellulite reduction occur because the multi-polar radio frequency causes a thermal reaction in the tissue which stimulates the body’s natural healing response. This restoring response causes the skin to contract, achieving tighter skin, softening of wrinkles and reduced cellulite.

How are Venus Legacy results?

After treatment, you will be relaxed and feel a warm sensation on the area that has been treated. The area may also appear pink. These effects are however temporary and will disappear in less than an hour. For most patients who visit our facility for Venus Legacy, we normally recommend six facial and neck treatments while other body areas will respond well with 8 to 10 treatments. Improvement with this treatment starts immediately and continues to improve over the next three months after completing the treatment sessions.
