Micropeel – Get Non-surgical Treatment for a Young-looking Skin

MicroPeel is a cosmetic clinical procedure that is normally used to rejuvenate a dull and dry appearance of skin normally caused by aging, environmental factors and some skin conditions. The procedure generally improves the appearance of skin by evening out skin discoloration, smoothing wrinkles and reducing the appearance of environmental damage that your skin has been exposed to. This is among the many non-surgical cosmetic skin procedures offered at Skin Deep Medical Spa managed by Dr. Bloch, a renowned Chicago plastic surgeon. To conveniently book an appointment at the spa, visit their site at www.skindeepmedicalspa.com to know the best treatment option for your skin.

How Is MicroPeel® done?

MicroPeel treatment uses a 3-step procedure which involves abrasion, chemical peeling and cryogenic therapy to improve skin conditions which include wrinkles, fine lines, dullness, blemishes, laxity and hyperpigmentation. The treatment procedure is as follows:

  1. Abrasion – this procedure uses mechanical scraping with a dermaplaning blade or enzyme solution to effectively and safely remove the surface debris preparing your skin for the chemical peel solution.
  2. Chemical peeling – your physician applies optimized solutions on your skin for a set amount of time. The solutions reveal a newer skin layer by removing the exterior epidermis and also boost collagen production to correct skin imperfections like dryness, fine lines, wrinkles and hyperpigmentation.

Before you get a chemical peel

Tell your doctor if you have any history of scarring, cold sores that keep coming back, or facial X-rays. Before you get a chemical peel, your doctor may ask you to stop taking certain drugs and prepare your skin by using other medications, such as Retin-A, Renova, or glycolic acid. The doctor may also prescribe antibiotics or antiviral drugs. Work with your doctor to determine the depth of your peel. This decision depends upon the condition of your skin and your goals for treatment. Ask your doctor in advance whether you will need to have someone drive you home after your peel.

    1. Cryogenic therapy – this can be described as dry-ice freezing therapy that acts as an anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory agent which aslo increases cell production and leaves your skin tight and cool.

For optimal outcomes, your aesthetician may recommend 4 to 6 procedures annually.

Results of MicroPeel® treatment

After a MicroPeel therapy, you may experience minor or no discomfort. There is also potential occurrence of irritation, burning sensation, itching or mild peeling redness. Some patients who have had the procedure have also reported uneven healing at times. Your healthcare provider should highlight these and other potential outcomes during your MicroPeel consultation meeting. You should also understand that the treatment will not stop the normal aging process.
